Hi! I'm London, and I'm in 7th grade. Ever since I learned about the Washington Workshop program, I've been dreaming about visiting our nation's capital. The idea of walking through the same halls where history was made, meeting the people who represent us, and learning about how our government actually works - it's incredible!
When I found out the trip costs $3,500, I could have asked my parents to pay for it. But I wanted to do something different. I wanted to earn it myself and learn some real-world skills along the way.
That's when we came up with the idea to use Chomper, our family's French Bulldog. My parents have been responsibly breeding dogs for over 10 years, and they agreed to let me manage Chomper's stud services as my fundraising project. They supervise everything, of course, but I get to handle the inquiries, communicate with clients, and manage the bookings.
💡At first, I was nervous about talking to adults and managing this kind of responsibility. But with every litter, I've gotten more confident. I've learned how to answer questions professionally, explain Chomper's health clearances, and even help families understand the breeding process.
Every time a new family reaches out about Chomper's services, I think about the Capitol building, the Supreme Court, and meeting my senators. Each successful breeding gets me closer to that dream, and it feels amazing to be working toward it myself.
The Washington Workshop program runs for 5 days in May 2026, during my 8th grade year. We'll stay in Washington D.C. and participate in educational activities every day.
Learning to break down a big goal into smaller, manageable steps and track my progress.
Understanding the serious responsibility that comes with dog breeding and animal welfare.
Talking with clients, answering questions, and being professional (with my parents' help!).
Staying motivated even when the goal seems far away, and celebrating small wins.
📚This project has taught me more than any classroom lesson could. I've learned about business, responsibility, animal care, and most importantly - that I can achieve big goals if I work hard and stay focused. I'm so grateful to everyone who has supported me on this journey!
"I want to prove to myself that I can do hard things. Raising this money on my own isn't just about the trip - it's about building confidence and learning skills that will help me for the rest of my life."
